Certificates of Deposit (CD) are a great way to earn higher yields on your deposits. To help you reach your savings goals, we offer a range of products with terms from 91-days to 48-months. 48-month CDs offer a "bump rate" option that provides one rate adjustment to the current rate being paid - the new rate is then earned from the date of rate change to original maturity.

Regular CDs require a minimum deposit of $1,000 to open. Regular CDs automatically renew at maturity to same term (10-day grace period provided). Interest earnings are deposited to Money Market Savings monthly.

Compound CDs have the same rate as regular certificates, but have a higher annual percentage yield due to compounding dividends. At maturity, the principal deposit and interest earnings transfer to your Money Market Savings or checking account. Most Tech CU CDs are available as Compound CDs.

Premium CDs are available to members who have combined deposit and loan service balances of $25,000 or more (excluding Premium CDs); or to members who are 60 years or older and maintain a $5,000 balance in Money Market Savings. Premium CDs pay ¼% more than Regular CDs and require a $1,000 minimum deposit to open.

Interest Advance CDs offer you the opportunity to receive your interest earnings at the time the CD is opened. You can then use your interest payment however you like - open another certificate, make a purchase or simply save it. Interest Advance CDs may be opened with a minimum of $10,000 in collected funds.

Jumbo CDs offer a higher annual percentage yield on deposits of $100,000 or more.

Tech Credit Union is insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government. The NCUA insures Tech Credit Union deposit accounts to a limit of $100,000 per member. All Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are insured by the NCUA for an additional $250,000.

Certificates of Deposit may be opened through any Tech Credit Union branch.
