The money market savings account is a base account required to be held by all credit union members. A minimum balance of $25.00 must be maintained in this account in order to be eligible to use credit union services. Other credit union accounts or loans you establish are treated as sub accounts on the Money Market Savings account. This means there is only one account number to remember. This account number is also your member number, which is printed on your Tech Credit Union member identification card.
Depending on your Money Market account balance, you will earn one to six different dividend rates. Dividends are calculated by the daily balance method and are compounded monthly and credited monthly after close of business on the last day of the month.
Tech Credit Union is insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government. The NCUA insures Tech Credit Union deposit accounts to a limit of $100,000 per member. All Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs) are insured by the NCUA for an additional $250,000.
For your convenience, you may open multiple savings accounts under the same account number. See your nearest Tech CU branch to open additional accounts.
